It is now moving into the fall . It's time to start getting our snow gear ready for winter fun. If you have a 2008 or 2009 Ski-Doo Snowmobile model listed below, you will need to do one more thing, take the vehicle back to the dealer to have a defective drive-axle repaired.

On September 26, 2008 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission posted a recall on Ski-Doo snowmobiles due to problems with the drive axle assembly. According to the Commission, cracks were developing in certain welds that resulted in a complete breakage of the drive axle assembly. This could bring about unexpected lock of the drive axle, which could result in ejection of the driver, or loss of control. One injury incident has been reported involving the fracture of a femur.

The model numbers are:

Owners of these snowmobiles are advised to immediately stop using them and contact their local deal to schedule a repair. You may also contact the manufacturer, BRP US Inc., of Sturtevant, Wisconsin at 888.638.5397. Ski-Doo is a registered tradename.

Let's get 'um fixed and get out there this winter!
